First dates at The Furnace

First dates at The Furnace

February 7th, 2022

The Furnace has launched a 'First Dates' inspired blind date event - and you can apply in time for Valentine's Day

Fans of Channel 4’s First Dates now have the chance to experience the match making magic for themselves – without the cameras.

The Furnace in Sheffield is set to host a new event inspired by the Channel 4 show, where successful applicants will be paired up for a blind date over dinner, whilst bar manager Dingo plays cupid in the absence of Fred Sirieix.

With 10 dates up for grabs, the restaurant is offering dating hopefuls 25% off their total bill – and even promises 50% off a future booking for any returning couple.

The event’s organiser Rose Turek said, “The format of the evening will be the same as what you see on First Dates – but without the TV cameras.

“When each person arrives, they’ll be offered a drink whilst they wait for their blind date. The couple will then be introduced and taken to their table, where hopefully the magic will happen!

“January is always a dry month so we’re hoping to get that spark back into people’s lives just in time for Valentine’s Day.”

The restaurant’s Valentine’s menu is priced at £35 per person for three courses with a complimentary French Martini on arrival.

Dishes include Furnace favourites such as Crispy Panko Pork Belly, Rump Steak and mouth-watering Dark Chocolate and Glayva Cremeux as well as vegan options including the Sourdough Flatbread, Coconut Sweet Potato Pie and Raspberry Frangipane Tart.

First Dates at The Furnace will take place on the evening of 11th February. To apply, hopefuls need to head to The Furnace’s Instagram page and follow the link to the application form where they’ll have the chance to describe their ideal date.

Applications close on Sunday 6th February and couples will be selected and invited to the event on Monday 7th.
