THE Botanist in Coventry is delighted to announce its chosen charity to support in 2019...

Situated in the Cathedral Lanes Shopping Centre, the brand new restaurant and bar opened to the public on Monday 26th November 2018, and has welcomed hundreds of visitors through its doors.

The Botanist team is very keen to build links within the local community and has selected the well-known Coventry city charity, Zoe’s Place Children’s Hospice to lend its support to.

The hospice in Easter Way, offers respite care to 40 families, with nurses and care assistants providing around the clock attention.

Katie Longbottom, HR Project Manager at The Botanist, said: “A few members of our team recommended the hospice. As soon as we found out a bit more about the amazing work that they do and the vital comfort and support that they offer we wanted to help.

For every child’s meal sold we will donate 25p to Zoe’s Place and during December we’ll add £1 on to every dining bill to give guests the option of supporting the hospice too.

Having a charitable element to our work is really important to us and we’ll be organising Botanist bingo, a quiz night and charity cocktails down the line to increase our support.

Zoe’s Place Children’s Hospice is delighted to have the backing of The Botanist.

Marc Dwyer, Challenge Event Fundraiser at the hospice, said: “We have to raise a minimum of £1.2million per year to keep going. Businesses are a big support and contribute about a third of the money we raise.

We couldn’t survive and assist the families that need us without that help. Our families tell us that we’re a lifeline for them. We help give them normalcy in challenging times and we’re so grateful to those supporters who help us to do just that.

The Botanist is part of the New World Trading Company, with seven brands and 24 venues across the country, the firm employs more than 1,000 people across the UK.

The Botanist in Coventry has created a botanical haven of food and drink, in a flagship spot in Cathedral Lanes Shopping Centre, with a striking interior of walls adorned with trees and vines as well as intriguing antiquities, trinkets and treasures.

It serves a delicious array of botanical-infused cocktails, local gins, world famous beers and ales and a variety of classic pub food as well as deli sharing boards and meat feasts against a backdrop of the latest live music.
