May 23rd, 2019

The Canal House scooped the best pub in their county at last night’s National Pub & Bar Awards 2019 after County success for The Oast House and The Canal House back in April.

Celebrating and championing the UK pub and bar market, 94 of the finest and creative venues in the hospitality industry came together for a theatre-style ‘red carpet’ event - hosted by restaurant critic Jay Rayner - at BAFTA 195 Piccadilly, London.

From these businesses, 15 Regional winners were selected for the ‘Best in Region’ category and the overall National Winner, The Church Inn, Mobberley (North West) was crowned.

Named the Best Pub & Bar in the West Midlands, The Canal House, Birmingham - proud of its atmosphere, drinks, food, service and design offering - scooped the prestigious ‘Best in Region’ award. This win comes as a huge success and pride for both The Canal House and The Oast House teams after both were County winners back in April.

“I’m super proud of The Canal House. Well done. A brilliant team and deserved winners,” says Chris Hill, CEO of The New World Trading Company.

“I’m already so proud of The Oast House and The Canal House for being recognised as best in County for Greater Manchester and the West Midlands, so this win at last night’s awards is fantastic for NWTC”
