The New World Trading Company Confirmed as Britain’s Best Restaurant & Bar Company to Work For.

The National Bar & Restaurant group, NWTC, secures the highest position within the hospitality industry, placing 5th in ‘The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For 2019’

Innovative hospitality business, The New World Trading Company (NWTC), retained a place on the Times 100 Best Companies league for its third consecutive year. The highest-placing restaurant and bar company, NWTC are elated on their position in the prestigious list, and say it is great recognition for their people.

With an impressive twenty-four venues across the country, NWTC runs seven brand concepts and employs over 1000 people under: The Oast House, The Botanist, The Florist, The Smugglers Cove, The Trading House, The Club House and The Canal House. The addition of The Botanist Bath and The Florist Watford this Spring will see the estate grow to twenty-six venues over the coming months.

The Sunday Times invited staff from across NWTC to give their opinions about their employers and working environments. This feedback was then analysed to determine a place on the list. Questions ranged from how staff feel towards their management and immediate colleagues to pay, work/life balance and how much the company gives back to society. NWTC work tirelessly throughout the year to ensure staff satisfaction is at its peak and go above and beyond to achieve this. With three successive years on the list, in the top ten, NWTC attributes its success to the hard work and dedication of its management teams across the business.

The expansion of its pioneering benefits and people-investments, including the Chef Academy, NWTC Tribes – an innovative and exclusive employee initiative that splits the company into ‘TRIBES’ to both collaborate and compete against each other in challenges for points and prizes, greater paternity and maternity benefits, the People’s Conference - a training day which champions personal development, grants for courses and personalised training programmes, all-staff Christmas party celebration and enhanced health benefits, has all led to NWTC retaining a proud place on the distinguished list.

Chief Executive Chris Hill says: “Achieving 5th place on the ‘Times 100 Best Companies’ list is a massive accomplishment for us all and to know that we’re continued to be recognised as the best company to work for in this industry is a huge accolade.

“This year has again seen us focus on our people; continuing to innovate and appreciate our staff who play a crucial part of the company’s success, while empowering our dedicated, loyal and talented management team to lead the different areas of the business forward. We’re delighted to have this recognition - it’s well-deserved for all.”
