NWTC at Publican Awards 2019

March 13th, 2019

Owner of The Botanist bar and restaurant, The New World Trading Company (NWTC), has scooped Best Managed Pub Company (2 to 50 sites) at The Publican Awards 2019.

Regarded as the hallmark of quality for drinks venues across the UK, The Publican Awards ceremony is considered one of the pub and bar industry’s main events of the year. Its Best Managed Pub Company award recognises companies which have shown strong innovation and business performance during the past year.

The restaurant and bar group’s success at the awards on 12th March comes hot on the heels of four other wins for NWTC at the Casual Dining Restaurant & Pub Awards 2019, where the group’s outstanding management and employee-focused culture was recognised by the ‘Employer of the Year’ award.

Chris Hill, CEO of The New World Trading Company, comments: “The Publican Awards are contested by some of the industry’s leading operators and being in the awards, each year, really means you’re up there with the very best in the business. To win is an absolute honour and further credit to the fantastic energy and effort of our team right across the country.”

At the Casual Dining Restaurant & Pub Awards 2019 on 27th February, NWTC won a total of four awards. These included ‘New Casual Dining Concept of the Year’, which was picked-up by the group’s floral inspired brand, The Florist and ‘Employer of the Year’. The Florist in Liverpool won awards including ‘Best New Restaurant Site’ and ‘Best Designed Casual Dining Restaurant of the Year’.

The group’s top employer status was also recently recognised in The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies To Work For 2019 (mid-sized companies). NWTC climbed two places to be ranked fifth in the respected listing.

NWTC currently operates 24 restaurants and bars across the UK, with brands including The Botanist, The Oast House, The Florist, The Smugglers Cove, The Trading House, The Club House and The Canal House.
