NWTC Wins Four Categories At The Publican Awards 2018

The New World Trading Company (NWTC) continues to shake up the industry with its perfect combination of developing talent and brand creativity.

The group’s focus on people management along with the brands creative drinks menus were applauded last night at the prestigious Publican Awards.

Judges believed NWTC continue to lead the hospitality industry by awarding the 21 site group with Best Pub Operations Team, Best Pub Employer (501 plus employees) and Business Leader of the Year to Chris Hill, Chief Executive Officer of NWTC.

NWTC were celebrated for the company’s focus on nurturing every team member from those at the sites to the operations team.

In particular, the judges praised the group for the personalised training programs which give employees the opportunity to build a career in the hospitality industry.

The company was also recognised for developing future industry leaders through projects that drive personal and professional development. This includes the People’s Conference - a training day which champions personal development, as well as grants for courses and training.

NWTC also graciously won Best Drinks Offer for their focus on continuously evolving the drink and cocktail experience across the portfolio.

Chris Hill, CEO comments: “There is no slowing down for us or for the industry as a whole. We are seeing so much excitement bubbling across the country. As a company, we are focusing on innovating the brands but most importantly supporting the talent we have in our sites and at head office. They are the ones who are driving the future of hospitality.”  

The new additions to the trophy cabinet follow a successful start of the year.

In ‘The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For 2018’ NWTC were awarded 7th position, the highest ever placement for a food and beverage company on the prestigious list.

NWTC also won The Retailers’ Retailer Awards 2018 (RROTY) for the fastest growing company.

Chris Hill, CEO of NWTC was also recognised at the Casual Dining Restaurant & Pub Awards 2018 for the ‘Trailblazer of the Year’; the only category nominated directly by the judges, all of which as renowned industry leaders. 

With 21 venues across the country, NWTC runs seven brands and employs over 1000 people under The Oast House, The Botanist, The Smugglers Cove, The Trading House, The Club House, The Canal House and most recently The Florist.
