NWTC TEAMS HELP KICK OFF ‘CELEBRATE FOODINATE’

Charity and volunteering are at the very heart of NWTC, with every employee actively encouraged to support local charities and worthy organisations as part of their time with us. This includes taking 1 paid volunteering day a year to give back to causes they care about.

Recently, members of NWTC’s Brand and Creative team took the opportunity to do just that and volunteer for Foodinate - a charity that aims to help homelessness and food poverty. Highly skilled in projects, design and social, the Brand and Creative team were keen to support with the preparation and design of Foodinate’s up and coming exhibition, ‘Celebrate Foodinate.’

After weeks of collaboration, the ‘Celebrate Foodinate’ exhibition was held on Thursday 5th March at Hotel Football. It was a fantastic night celebrating the Foodinate journey so far and saying thanks to those who continue to support the charity. NWTC were proud to have been a part of it!

Ryan Giggs also made an appearance and did a live Q&A alongside Foodinate founder Caroline Stevenson. The ex footballer-turned-restaurateur (and co-owner of GG Hospitality) partnered with Foodinate back in 2018, to contribute to initiatives aimed at helping those in poverty and facing homelessness.

The Foodinate Story

We live in the 7th richest country in the whole, entire world yet more than 13 MILLION people in the UK are living below the poverty line, and around 1 in every 6 parents have reported going without food themselves so they can afford to feed their families.

By forming partnerships with restaurants, venues and grassroots charities, Foodinate ensures that every delicious Foodinate-selected drink or meal you enjoy results in a meal for a local person in need.

Foodinate’s total number of dishes donated to date is now over 150,000 - an incredible achievement and just one of the reasons why NWTC are so proud to support the charity.

How do we support Foodinate?

NWTC joined this amazing cause and partnered with Foodinate in The Oast House, Manchester back in 2018.  When you dine and see the Foodinate icon next to a dish, when this dish is purchased, the restaurant then funds a nourishing meal for a local person in need in the community.

Since then, The Oast House has allocated different food dishes with the Foodinate icon on The Oast House menu; with their Vegan Chilli being the dish of the moment. Every time someone enjoys this dish a nourishing meal gets donated to Mustard Tree. So far, we have helped fund 3128 meals for the local community.

To help us support Foodinate, look out for the icon on our food menus.

Did you know?

NWTC has its very own in house Creative team! So every menu, marketing piece or design you see (in this case, the Foodinate exhibition boards!) has been designed by our talented designers who know the brands like the back of their creative hands.
